Relaxed Saturday

Today has been boring, but not in a bad way. Lately, I've constantly been feeling sad, and overall psychologically uncomfortable. I won't make this all sad though.

Since this list's songs vary from happy to sad, I will say which emotion each song gives me.

1. Ninja Sex Party - Everybody Wants To Rule The World

The original song is made by Tears for Fears, but I like this version more. (Happy and relaxed)

2. Joy Division - Love Will Tear Us Appart

I want to drunkenly dance to this song with friends! (Happy)

3. Ice Cube - Today Was A Good Day

This is the first song I listen to when I get back home after school if everything went well. (Happy and relaxed.)

4. The Cardigans - Lovefool

I'm pretty sure this song's lyrics are supposed to be sad, but the song itself is not sad at all. In fact, this sounds very happy. (Happy)

5. Bonnie Tyler - Total Eclipse Of The Heart

This song makes me so emotional! And when the instrumental gets intense, I just want to tear my shirt off and sing along, with a foot on the edge of the top of a mountain. (Sad, epic)

6. Jim Croce - Time In A Bottle

A very good friend of mine recommended me this song, and it reminds me so much of him. (Nostalgic, sad)

7. Quiet's Theme - Akihiro Honda

To me, this song is not that sad. It's more like the kind of happiness you feel after having a long day, but finally getting back home and being able to relax. It's the "It's finally over!" kind of happiness.
I do see, though, how many people can see this song as really sad, as it is used in the game it belongs to in many sad scenes. (Sad/happy, tired, relaxing)

I think these are enough songs for today. I hope my future lists can be more positive, but realistically, they won't.

How I Felt Today

Basically, I felt blue today. Today's list is going to be purely negative. Sorry about that.

All of these songs are from my favorite video game series, Silent Hill, which has the extremely appreciated song writer Akira Yamaoka, whom wrote beautiful lyrics for Mary Elizabeth McGlynn to sing, paired with the perfect instrumentals for today's mood.

1. Akira Yamaoka - Magdalene

This song made me feel hopeless, sad, but also relaxed. The lonely piano is so beautiful, but I think what made this song special is the silence between the sets of seven notes. I can think of countless ways this could be used in a movie.

2. Akira Yamaoka - Never Forgive Me, Never Forget Me

Simply beautiful. Never Forgive Me, Never Forget Me is a signature song of the Silent Hill series, but that is not what makes it special for me. It's just like Magdalene. Relaxing but sad.

3. Akira Yamaoka - Innocent Moon

Yes, this song does start with a very creepy noise, which can be explained by the fact that the Silent Hill series is a horror series. Still, the rest of the song, although short, is relaxing.

4. Akira Yamaoka - The Terminal Show

This is very similar to the other songs, but it can still be appreciated.

 5. Akira Yamaoka - O.R.T.

(My favorite of this list)

This song stands out in the list because it has lyrics. The melancholy delivery of the lyrics is what makes this song special to me. Some lines don't really make sense (Emptiness, dead eyes and lost what you found.), but maybe it just wouldn't sound good if it were another way.
Some lines really hit hard, and  I love it.

I'm sorry for making this list a negative one. It really isn't a good first impression, but as I said, it has not been a good day.
"Music is a safe kind of high." - Jimi Hendrix

Greetings.

This blog is something that I've wanted to do for a while now, because music is a big part of my life, and I would say that music influences my mood a lot, just as it is the case for many other people.

Whenever I am feeling happy, I can't stop myself from turning on my Bluetooth speakers and blasting some WHAM! or maybe something by Men At Work, but if I am feeling blue then I don't want to do anything else other than listen to Piano Man by Billy Joel, or O.R.T. sung by Mary Elizabeth McGlynn.

The objective of this blog is, mostly, to organize music by what ideas or feelings I get from it, just as I mentioned in the main page. I want to do this because sometimes I feel like this is a good way to express myself, but it can also be a good way for you to find something that will match your mood so that you can express yourself too.

I will try to post at least once a week, maybe more. Do NOT expect me to do so, though.

I hope you enjoy reading my posts just as much as I enjoy writing them. Thank you.
